Background
A think shell of stell, the plate armor was ideally intended to be worn over a padded piece of clothing that the party was regretfully without. But while the thin fabric of one's tunic would be a poor substitute for a quilted bambeson, the armor itself would deflect far more sword blows than would bare skin.
