The Emperor's Shadows are an elite cadre of Imperial mages in Betrayal in Antara.
Role
The Shadows guard the Emperor and investigate magical threats against him. Described as neither gentle nor cruel, they are able to magically question suspects by reading their minds, a process ranging from headache-inducing to agonizing depending on the subject's cooperation. They also assist in setting policy among the Empire's magical community.
