Earl Kasumi is a Tsurani noble and veteran soldier mentioned in Betrayal at Krondor.
Overview[]
Kasumi of the House Shinzawai fought against the Kingdom of the Isles during the Riftwar, and was among those trapped on Midkemia when the Rift Gate collapsed. Despite the Tsurani custom of killing themselves to avoid capture, Kasumi forbade his soldiers, including Sumani, from committing suicide without permission from a Tsurani Great One. He currently serves as an official of The Garrison at LaMut.
When Sumani left the Garrison to run the Blue Wheel Inn, Kasumi insisted upon Sumani keeping his House Shinzawai armor, cementing the former soldier's gratitude and fealty.
His Tsurani soldiers once defeated Baron Gabot in an archer's tourney.
Kasumi commissioned the Tsurani armorcrafter Euliliko to improve the standard Kingdom Armor for his LaMutian soldiers, resulting in the invention of Euliliko Armor.
